Sing to the LORD, all the earth; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day. -- 1 Corinthians 16:23
Ours is a music-loving congregation, and we have many ways to express our faith through voice and instrument! All music programs are led at least in part by Michael Fister, St. Paul's organist and choirmaster.
Adult Choir Calling all voices! We can always use more members in the senior choir. Anyone in high school or older is invited to join us in our vocal praises to the Lord. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the choir room , and also at 10:00 a.m. Sunday mornings, before the second service.
Note: During the summer months, there is no choir practice, and music at the second worship service is provided by our family choir. Anyone is welcome to sing with the family choir -- no robes required!
Handbell Choir Our handbell choir (or as they like to call themselves, "the Ding-a-lings") is an extraordinary team and the music is heavenly. If you can count, you can play a handbell! If you're interested in participating in this special music ministry, please speak with our director, Mike Fister.
Joyful Noise The St. Paul's praise team is truly a unique group! Through contemporary music, dance, and pantomime, they bring the message of the Gospel to a whole new generation. Look for their participation at special services and events throughout the church year.
St. Paul's Orchestra Our orchestra is comprised of enthusiastic volunteers who play a variety of instruments. They perform on different occasions throughout the year, most notably the Easter and Christmas Eve services, and they always add that something extra to the day!
Psalm 98: “O sing unto the Lord a new song;
for He has done marvelous things”
Psalm 100: “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all you lands”
Both of these Psalms command us to praise God with music and singing, but notice that neither of them mentions that only those with great musicianship should participate.
So many times when our members are asked to join the choir, their first response is “You don’t want to hear ME sing!” Ironically, the Lord DOES want to hear you sing. Our choir consists of people with many different musical backgrounds and abilities, but they come to serve God and their church each week, doing the best with whatever musical abilities God gave them.
Please consider joining the choir. We meet upstairs in the choir room. Rehearsals are short AND we have fun.
Remember: “the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those who sang best!”
